THREE COMPETITIONS IN ONE!

From May onwards, we are planning to start a new type of golf game on a Friday afternoon at your favourite pay and play course. From 4.30 until 5.30 on a Friday, you will have the option of entering the skins competition. If a large number of golfers enter this, you could potentially win a good amount of money.

The skins £4 is entirely optional. You can still play in the nine hole competition by just paying £15.

The format is as follows: nine holes on the full length course off the yellow tees. Record your score on each hole, the best nett score on a hole wins a share of the pot. If only one person gets a 3 on the eighth, one person gets a 2 on the fourth and one person gets a 4 on the first, then the pot is split 3 ways.  The only score that wins a skin is the single lowest score on the hole.  If only one person wins a hole outright in the comp. then that person gets all of the skins money!  As the meerkat says  "Simples!"

If noone has the single lowest score on any hole, then the pot of money will roll over to the next week's competition. Just like the lottery, this can make for big prize money. Alright, not JUST like the lottery, but you get my drift.

Even if you are not having a great round, you might just get a 3 on the ninth hole, and it might  win a share or even the whole pot of prize money!

This fun competition is very popular in U.S.A. and we were given the idea by our young friend Sean Costello, who is a Professional Golfer in Florida.

To enter the skins comp. you will need to sign up in the clubhouse. The fee is £15 for the golf plus £4 skins money. On your return to the clubhouse, you will be given a complimentary half pint of one of our draft beers and some nibbles. All of the scores will be recorded on our competition scoreboard, and the winners will either be presented with the cash, or notified of their win.  There will also be prizes for the lowest gross and the lowest nett score so that higher handicappers will have a chance too!

If you do not have an official or Society golf handicap, then you will need to play in two skins comps. and hand in the cards signed by your playing partner. You will then be given a skins comp. handicap so that you can enter the proper competition from then onwards. Obviously you will not pay the £4 skins until you receive your handicap.

Ladies are welcome to join in the fun. They will play off the ladies tee, but to the men's card. They will receive a courtesy stroke on the 8th hole to make up for the difference in par.
