Head Greenkeeper Robert with Martin taking a break from the coring work they did last month.

Those of you who have been playing regularly will have seen that the greenkeeping team have done their annual major work on the greens. After about two weeks the greens returned to their normal excellent state. It took much longer for the greens team to recover!! The work helps to keep the greens putting nicely throughout the year as they are drained as well as having the thatch removed from under the surface. Thanks to the greenkeepers who do such a great job all year round and in all weather conditions.

Thanks too for the fantastic response that we got from you last week. I asked you to tell us what you liked or disliked about Billingbear and you responded magnificently. There were some interesting suggestions for improvement as well as lots of praise and we will be looking at making some of the changes that were suggested.

I picked a name at random as promised, and Mrs Pauline Livesley is the winner of one week of free golf. Congratulations Pauline, please speak to Andy in the clubhouse and you can play as much as you like in a week to suit you. Hoping to see lots of you over the Bank Holiday weekend.
