PowerPlay Golf
Billingbear Park Golf Course is holding its first powerplay golf event on Wednesday 23rd July 2008.
The winner will go through to the national final. There will be prizes on the day, and food and drink will be available in the clubhouse. Billingbear will welcome all golfers to this day with the usual friendly atmosphere and beautifully presented golf course. PowerPlay Golf could become a regular event at Wokingham’s favourite pay and play golf course.
JUNIOR GOLF
Do you know a junior who plays golf? We are trying to get some juniors together for both fun and competitive golf at Billingbear. Please get them to email me so that I can make some dates for a junior meeting, or just give their contact details to Andy or Tracey in the clubhouse.
PARTY ROOM Now that the building is completely no smoking, we have a lovely party/meeting room which can be booked for up to 16 people. We have had some great parties in there already, just phone us to book the room.

COMPETITION RESULTS
Clive Simpson, our handicap secretary, and Brendan Crawford, our webmaster have now made it possible for our members to view the club competition results by simply clicking "RESULTS" on the navigation bar above or "Competition Results" in the left-hand navigation menu. Thanks for that, guys.
COURSE IMPROVEMENTS
Those of you who have played here lately, will have noticed that a lot of work has been carried out, mainly to dredge the silt from the lakes and allow the rainwater to go through without flooding. A new 18th tee has been built to bring the left hand bunker into play (hooray!) We now have a new astroturf mat on the 3rd hole of the new course, which will give a good all year round surface. We have invested in a new sand injection Graden machine for the greens. Following the poor summer last year, we decided to give the golfers the benefit of good greens for longer, by delaying the Autumn programme of greens work. The real benefit of this work will be seen this summer. A water fountain is going to be fitted in the lake by the 9th green, which will be a very attractive addition to the course, and will also aereate the water for our fishy friends.

Every Wednesday morning and Friday morning we run an informal Roll-up competition.
